| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives offer our sincere appreciation to Gaila Barcus |
| 4 |
| for her years of service as a Piatt county board member; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Gaila was dedicated in carrying out her duties and |
| 6 |
| obligations as a board member from 1996 to 2004; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, She served on various committees, such as Nursing |
| 8 |
| Home, Payroll and Claims, Personnel (Chairperson), Insurance, |
| 9 |
| Finance, and CIEDC - Community Action/Head Start; she was |
| 10 |
| instrumental in procuring a $15,000 grant for the playground at |
| 11 |
| the Cisco Center located at the Piatt County Head Start |
| 12 |
| facility; she continues to keep involved in all facets of the |
| 13 |
| CIEDC program; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Barcus is very much an asset to the county, |
| 15 |
| and the people of Piatt county are grateful for her services as |
| 16 |
| a county board member; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, She moved from Springfield with her parents in |
| 18 |
| 1956 to live in Piatt county; she attended grade school and |
| 19 |
| high school in the Atwood-Hammond School District and attended |
| 20 |
| Springfield Junior College in 1963; she attends the Hammond |
| 21 |
| United Methodist Church; she and her husband, Jim, farm 1100 |
| 22 |
| acres in Piatt county; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 25 |
| we commend Gaila Barcus for her exemplary public service as a |
| 26 |
| Piatt county board member and express our gratitude for her |
| 27 |
| resolve to continue serving her community and those less |
| 28 |
| fortunate; and be it further
|
