HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death of William
4 E. "Bill" Griffith of Bushnell on Wednesday, February 23, 2005;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born on August 17, 1947, in Avon to Robert
7 L. and Evelyn Spangler Griffith; he married Linda Graham on
8 August 10, 1968, in Bushnell; he served his country as an
9 electronics technician in the U.S. Navy; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Mr. Griffith was service manager for Woodrums
11 Chevrolet Pontiac Cadillac in Macomb for 17 years; he later was
12 a commercial airline pilot for Midway Airlines from 1988 to
13 1993; he managed Carthage Airport for two years and had flown
14 King Air airplanes for the State of Illinois for the last 10
15 years; and
 
16     WHEREAS, His co-workers remember him as a man of many
17 talents, often able to fix their computers, and as one who
18 enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face; and
 
19     WHEREAS, His passengers admired this calm, competent, and
20 confident pilot and deeply appreciated his never-failing
21 helpfulness and sunny personality; and
 
22     WHEREAS, He was a member of T.L. Pickett Lodge, AF&AM, and
23 Bushnell First Baptist Church; and
 
24     WHEREAS, The passing of William E. "Bill" Griffith has been
25 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Linda; his mother,
26 Evelyn; his daughter, Christy Griffith; and his brother, Tom;
27 he was preceded in death by his father and a brother;
28 therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn the passing of William E. "Bill" Griffith, and we
4 extend our deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who
5 knew and loved him; and be it further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest
8 condolences during their time of bereavement.
