HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize our colleague, Representative Roger Jenisch, for his service to the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Roger Jenisch was born on July 26, 1964; he has three children, Stephanie, Roger II, and Amanda; and he is a partner for the Humbert Insurance Agency; and

WHEREAS, He served as a DuPage County Board Member from 1997 to 2004, as a DuPage County Forest Preserve Commissioner from 1997 to 2002, as Chairman of the Bloomingdale Commission and Zoning Appeals Board from 1991 to 1997, on the Village of Addison Substance Responsibility Commission from 1985 to 1989, and on the Village of Addison Police Fire Merit Review Board from 1984 to 1988; and

WHEREAS, Roger Jenisch has served in the General Assembly since 2005, representing the 45th District; his legislative assignments included serving on the Financial Institutions Committee, Human Services Committee, Insurance Committee, Kid Care Subcommittee, Mass Transit Committee, Revenue Committee, Tourism & Conventions Committee, and the Committee of the Whole; and

WHEREAS, While serving in the Illinois House, he awarded eight one-year General Assembly scholarships for students demonstrating scholastic achievement, participating in public and civic affairs, and those planning on attending Illinois State universities; he held community health fairs for seniors and children, with events that included demonstrations, health screenings, and information about local and State services offered to residents; he encouraged children to read during summer months and rewarded them for reading a designated amount of books for the Super Readers Club; and

WHEREAS, He was awarded the title of "Lincolnland Legend" after he was the centerpiece of a winning essay written by a student in his district; Lincolnland Legends, a program of Illinois Dollars for Scholars, awards scholarships to public high school juniors and seniors from across the State and at the same time recognizes outstanding Illinois residents who are role models for youth; the nomination category was for Illinois residents with backgrounds in government or the military; and

WHEREAS, Representative Jenisch was co-sponsor of a number of important legislative initiatives that became law in the areas of identity theft, penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, aggravated assault or battery in public places, fleeing the scene of an accident, and restricting adult entertainment facilities; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Representative Roger Jenisch on a job well done and wish him all the best in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Jenisch.
