HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Bridgeview Fire Chief Terrence Lipinski, who has
3 served the community as Fire Chief for eleven years, marked
4 thirty years with the Bridgeview Fire Department on October 4,
5 2006; an American flag was flown over the Capitol Building in
6 Washington, D.C. in honor of his thirty years of service in the
7 fire department; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He recently announced his plan to retire; during
9 Lipinski's years as chief, the department has earned a good
10 reputation within the State fire community, specifically for
11 its sprinkler rules; and
 
12     WHEREAS, During his tenure, Lipinski served on the incident
13 command teams for the response effort after the tornado in
14 Utica in 2004 and Hurricane Katrina; he spent about 26 hours in
15 Utica and two weeks in Louisiana after the hurricane; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He served ten years on the Executive Board for the
17 Illinois Fire Chief's Association; he was President of the
18 Bridgeview ETSB Board for eleven years; he is a member of the
19 Region 7 EMS Advisory Board and a member of the Christ Advocate
20 EMS Advisory Board; and
 
21     WHEREAS, He is a member of the Moraine Valley Community
22 College Fire Education Advisory Board; he is the Treasurer for
23 the Illinois Fire Chief's Association PAC; he has served as
24 President and Vice-President of MABAS Division 21 Chief's
25 Board; he was a Trustee for the Bridgeview Fireman's Pension
26 Fund for twenty-six years; and
 
27     WHEREAS, Chief Lipinski was appointed to the Intrastate
28 Mutual Aid Committee for the International Association of Fire
29 Chief's as a Technical Expert to assist the State of Texas in
30 developing a statewide Mutual Aid System; and

1     WHEREAS, He is an Administrator and an Instructor for the
2 MABAS Dispatching Training; he was the Area Commander of the
3 Illinois MABAS forces outside of New Orleans; and he was
4 appointed a Lead Coordinator for the May 2006 Statewide
5 exercise and deployment; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Terrence Lipinski is a member of the International
7 Association of Fire Chiefs, National Fire Protection
8 Association, Great Lakes Fire Chiefs Association, Illinois
9 Fire Chiefs Association, Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association,
10 Cook County Fire Chiefs Association, Illinois Fire Inspectors
11 Association, Illinois Professional Firefighters Association,
12 Illinois Firefighters Association, and the Mutual Aid Box Alarm
13 System (MABAS); and
 
14     WHEREAS, After retiring, Mr. Lipinski plans to spend time
15 in Phoenix, Arizona, before re-joining the work force; he may
16 work as a consultant in Bridgeview, reviewing the village's
17 response to disaster situations with the Mutual Aid Box Alarm
18 System; therefore, be it
 
19     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we congratulate Terrence Lipinski on his retirement and honor
22 him for his years of service and dedication to the people of
23 his community; and be it further
 
24     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Terrence Lipinski.
