HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Chief Don Feher has served with the Fairview Fire Department for 37 years, and recently announced his retirement; and

WHEREAS, He began his career as a volunteer with the fire department in 1969; he worked his way through the ranks and was hired as Assistant Chief in October of 1980; in 1997 he was promoted to Fire Chief; and

WHEREAS, He has been a member of the St. Clair County/Monroe County Fire Chief's Association for sixteen years, and currently serves as President; and

WHEREAS, Chief Feher is the Director of the Illinois Fire Chiefs, a member of the International Fire Chiefs, chairman of the board and founder of the St. Clair Special Emergency Services Association, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Southwestern Illinois College Fire Service Division; and

WHEREAS, He is the Chairman of LEPC, a board member of the St. Clair County 911 ETSB, a past Chairman of the East West Gateway Hazmat network, and a member of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force, of MABAS 32, the Governor's Advisory Board on Hazardous Materials, the State of Illinois Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Reimbursement Panel, and the Advisory Board for the Illinois Fire Marshal's Personnel Standards and Education Division; and

WHEREAS, Chief Don Feher is to be commended for his dedication to helping his fellow citizens in times of need; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Don Feher for his hard work, his dedication, and his years of service on the Fairview Fire Department; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Don Feher, along with our sincere regards.
