HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, Chief Don Feher has served with the Fairview Fire
3 Department for 37 years, and recently announced his retirement;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, He began his career as a volunteer with the fire
6 department in 1969; he worked his way through the ranks and was
7 hired as Assistant Chief in October of 1980; in 1997 he was
8 promoted to Fire Chief; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He has been a member of the St. Clair
10 County/Monroe County Fire Chief's Association for sixteen
11 years, and currently serves as President; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Chief Feher is the Director of the Illinois Fire
13 Chiefs, a member of the International Fire Chiefs, chairman of
14 the board and founder of the St. Clair Special Emergency
15 Services Association, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee
16 for the Southwestern Illinois College Fire Service Division;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, He is the Chairman of LEPC, a board member of the
19 St. Clair County 911 ETSB, a past Chairman of the East West
20 Gateway Hazmat network, and a member of the Illinois Terrorism
21 Task Force, of MABAS 32, the Governor's Advisory Board on
22 Hazardous Materials, the State of Illinois Hazardous Materials
23 Emergency Response Reimbursement Panel, and the Advisory Board
24 for the Illinois Fire Marshal's Personnel Standards and
25 Education Division; and
 
26     WHEREAS, Chief Don Feher is to be commended for his
27 dedication to helping his fellow citizens in times of need;
28 therefore, be it
 
29     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we thank Don Feher for his hard work, his dedication, and his
3 years of service on the Fairview Fire Department; and be it
4 further
 
5     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Chief Don Feher, along with our sincere regards.
