HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to recognize milestones in the lives of Illinois citizens; and

WHEREAS, Shauna Carey, an art teacher at Booker T. Washington Elementary School in Champaign, Illinois, was recently selected as the 2006 Wal-Mart National Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Shauna is a creative educator, using dance, art, and music in a program on conflict resolution; and

WHEREAS, Shauna takes advantage of the available resources around her, utilizing the University of Illinois campus in Champaign/Urbana to better help her students; and

WHEREAS, Shauna makes each one of her students feel special and excited about learning; and

WHEREAS, Shauna Carey is someone that the people of the State of Illinois can look up to, for her dedication to her field, her love of teaching, and her ability to make students like learning; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Shauna Carey and wish her continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Shauna Carey.
