HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois wish to honor Dave Foreman on the occasion of his retirement from the position of president of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois on February 7, 2006; and

WHEREAS, He was the 6th president of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois, serving in the position for the last 18 years; he served the AFFI for the past 28 years in the positions of Vice President-At-Large, President, and President Emeritus; and

WHEREAS, He spent the past 35 years with the Joliet Fire Department as Fire Fighter, Fire Apparatus Operator, Lieutenant, and finally Captain; he began his fire fighting career with the Lockport Fire Department in 1969; and

WHEREAS, He also spent much of his free time serving his fellow fire fighters with the Joliet Fire Fighters Local 44, Joliet Fire Officers Local 2369, and the Joliet Pension Board; and

WHEREAS, He has been appointed to the position of Illinois State Fire Marshall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dave Foreman on the occasion of his retirement from the AFFI, and we wish him well in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Foreman as an expression of our respect and esteem.
