| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Chicago |
| 4 |
| Southeast Side Vietnam Veterans on the occasion of their 20th |
| 5 |
| anniversary on Saturday, October 14, 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Chicago Southeast Side Vietnam Veterans was |
| 7 |
| founded on September 8, 1986, by Ron Guranovich and Tim |
| 8 |
| Jakubowski with a mission to assist and promote the welfare and |
| 9 |
| well being of disabled and needy war veterans and their |
| 10 |
| dependents and the widows and orphans of deceased veterans; the |
| 11 |
| group is now led by President George Muszynski; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, the Chicago Southeast Side Vietnam |
| 13 |
| Veterans have taken numerous steps to further their goals such |
| 14 |
| as holding fundraisers to benefit hospitalized vets, providing |
| 15 |
| job assistance, supporting local community groups with |
| 16 |
| financial assistance, and working to free American servicemen |
| 17 |
| held captive in Southeast Asia; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, They have also devoted much of their time to |
| 19 |
| honoring those who had fought in Vietnam; they were |
| 20 |
| instrumental in the development of the Our Lady of Guadalupe |
| 21 |
| memorial which recognizes the twelve parishioners who lost |
| 22 |
| their lives while serving in Vietnam; they played a major role |
| 23 |
| in the creation and subsequent restoration of the mural at the |
| 24 |
| Our Lady of Guadalupe memorial which memorializes the solders |
| 25 |
| with portraits; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, Members of the Chicago Southeast Side Vietnam |
| 27 |
| Veterans will celebrate twenty years of coming to the aid and |
| 28 |
| assistance of their fellow soldiers; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
