| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize Giant Steps Illinois |
| 4 |
| as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of their annual benefit |
| 5 |
| dinner and auction on Sunday October 8th, 2006; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Giant Steps Illinois was founded in 1998 by Debra |
| 7 |
| K. Nauman and other dedicated parents searching for alternative |
| 8 |
| education and therapeutic services for their children with |
| 9 |
| autism spectrum disorders; Giant Steps Illinois is part of an |
| 10 |
| international network of schools founded in 1981 in Montreal, |
| 11 |
| Canada; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Giant Steps Illinois is a non-public therapeutic |
| 13 |
| day school for children with autism spectrum disorders; Giant |
| 14 |
| Steps Illinois provides educational and therapeutic services |
| 15 |
| to enable children with autism to achieve their maximum |
| 16 |
| potential including such services as academic instruction, |
| 17 |
| one-on-one programs, speech and language therapy, occupational |
| 18 |
| therapy, music therapy, computer instruction, and home |
| 19 |
| support; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Giant Steps Illinois and its director Nicole |
| 21 |
| Allgood will hold their annual dinner and auction to help raise |
| 22 |
| funds to continue to provide the assistance that their |
| 23 |
| organization has become known for; therefore, be it
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 26 |
| we recognize Giant Steps Illinois on the occasion of the 10th |
| 27 |
| anniversary of their annual benefit and dinner auction; and be |
| 28 |
| it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 30 |
| presented to Giant Steps Illinois as an expression of our |
