HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mauck will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of their marriage; and

WHEREAS, Walter and Aurelia were married at St. Clement Catholic Church in McLeansboro on September 4, 1946 with Father Bill Brandmeyer officiating; and

WHEREAS, Walter and Aurelia have three sons, Carl (wife, Vicki), Father George, and Walter, Jr. (wife, Sue); the proud grandparents of Tim (wife, Wendy) Mauck, Chrissy Mauck, Teresa (husband, Ryan) Shaffer, Cathy Mauck, Matthew Mauck, and Amy Mauck; and the great-grandparents of Jackson and Hudson Shaffer and Elia Mauck; and

WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its highest plateaus when a couple such as Walter and Aurelia celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Walter and Aurelia stand as examples of the best of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in today's world; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mauck on the occasion of their sixtieth wedding anniversary, and we commend them for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with family and rich in friendships; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem and with our wishes for happiness and good health in the future.
