HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois learned with great sadness of the sudden and untimely death of Keinya (Kee) Patrice Brewer on Friday, August 18, 2006; and

WHEREAS, She was born on July 13, 1973, to Willie Dale Brewer, who proceeded her in death, and Mable Inez Allen Brewer; she became a Christian at an early age at St. John De LaSalle Catholic Church, where she was a founding member of the Gospel Soul Children of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, She attended Holy Cross, St. John De LaSalle, and Countee Cullen elementary schools; she graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School in 1991; she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Chicago State University and was enrolled in a graduate program at Concordia University, pursuing a master's degree in curriculum and instruction; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Brewer was employed part-time at Marshall Fields for nearly ten years, while serving as a primary teacher at Charles R. Henderson for seven years; she absolutely loved teaching; and

WHEREAS, She was a faithful member of Trinity United Church of Christ and saw the light at John A. Bell Jurisdiction Grand Lodge, where she was a member and served as Chaplin of Charity #10 Order of the Eastern Star; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Keinya (Kee) Patrice Brewer has been deeply felt by many, especially her mother, Mable Inez Allen Brewer; her sister, Paris Anissa Brewer; her brothers, Stephen Edwards and William Dexter Brewer; her niece and nephew, Alex and Brianna; her special friend; her aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors; and her god children Zoe, Jerry, Shannon, Nicholas, Nahriyah, Kaleb, Chandler, Khylie, Tylor, Taylor, Taron, Tarae, Najee, Kyle, Drake, Christian, Kameron, Ashley, and Tyeshia; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Keinya (Kee) Patrice Brewer, and we extend our deepest sympathy to her family, her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to her family as an expression of our sincerest condolences.
