HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people of this State; and

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Stella Marie (Leffler) Boswell of Mt. Vernon recently celebrated the 102nd anniversary of her birth; and

WHEREAS, Stella Marie Leffler was born on August 29, 1904, in Mt. Vernon, the fifth of nine children; and

WHEREAS, She attended Edison and Horace Mann schools in Mt. Vernon; and

WHEREAS, She married Seamon O. Boswell in a double wedding with her brother marrying Seamon's sister in 1922; they adopted one son, Richard, and gave birth to another son, Fred "Alvin" Boswell, in 1930; and

WHEREAS, The Boswells moved several times, living in such places as Chicago and Hammond, Indiana, before returning to Mt. Vernon; they owned a shoe shop and later a restaurant, both in Wayne City; they were married for 53 years, when Mr. Boswell passed away in 1975; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Boswell enjoys needlework, embroidery, gardening, and canning vegetables; her favorite food is pizza from Pizza Hut; she is of the Methodist faith; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, we congratulate Stella Marie (Leffler) Boswell on the occasion of her 102nd birthday, and we extend to her our sincere best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Boswell as an expression of our respect and esteem.
