HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Those individuals who work to protect and serve the citizens of our State are worthy of the highest praise; and

WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Charleston Police Department Police Chief Ted Ghibellini has retired after more than 30 years of placing himself in harms way for the safety of others; and

WHEREAS, Chief Ghibellini started with the Charleston Police Department in 1974; he was Chief of Police for five years after serving as Assistant Chief for eleven years; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure as Chief, he played a key role in the planning for the department's training facility on West Madison Avenue, attaining the grant funds for its creation; the facility is a great asset for Charleston's police officers and can also host training for emergency responders from East Central Illinois; and

WHEREAS, In his retirement, Chief Ghibellini plans to fish, golf, work around the house, and spend time with his wife, Connie, and their children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Police Chief Ghibellini on his retirement, and we wish him well in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Ghibellini as an expression or our sincere admiration and gratitude for his years of service to the citizens of Illinois.
