HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the members of the Illinois School for the Deaf boys track and field team on an exceptional season; and

WHEREAS, The Tigers recently won the school's first sectional championship at the IHSA Carlinville Class A Boys Sectional; and

WHEREAS, The members of the team include freshmen Chris Cannon, Willie Harris, Pete Kujawa, Deondra Lord, Chris Matthews, Oscar Mazon, Michael Morris, J'Bryson Owten, Terrence Petty, Joshua Sandoval, and Brett Worthel; sophomores Brandon Arnold, Immanuel Bernard, Derrick Tripp, and Harry Valendia; juniors Alexander Lewis, Clint Brewer, Lacedrix Brown, Lance Brown, Justin Cartlidge, Mario Clopton, Pierre Price, Manuel Reyes, Billy Smith, Derrick Stringfellow, and Dustin Trussen; and seniors LaShawn Morris, Daniel Pliszka, Walter Pliszka, Lorenzo Townsend, and Joshua Wayland; and

WHEREAS, The coaches of the boys track team are Joe Lee and Mark Nagy; they were assisted by manager Jeremy Thorp; and

WHEREAS, Several team members qualified for State competition, including Clint Brewer (300-meter intermediate hurdles and 4 x 400 relay), Lacedrix Brown (long jump, 200-meter dash, 4 x 200 relay, and 4 x 100 relay), Lance Brown (400-meter dash and 4 x 400 relay), Mario Clopton (4 x 100 relay and 4 x 200 relay), Michael Morris (4 x 400 relay), Walter Pliszka (4 x 100 relay, 4 x 200 relay, and 4 x 400 relay), Pierre Price (4 x 100 relay and 4 x 200 relay) Lorenzo Townsend (shot put and discus), Josh Sandoval (alternate), and Billy Smith (alternate); and

WHEREAS, Junior Lacedrix Brown placed second in the long jump and fourth in the 200-meter dash at the State competition, and junior Clint Brewer placed eighth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Illinois School for the Deaf boys track and field team on an exceptional season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to each of the members and coaches of the Tigers as an expression of our esteem.
