HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Throughout the history of our great nation, brave citizens of the State of Illinois have served our country all over the world, placing themselves in harm's way in order to protect the freedom and lives of people everywhere; and

WHEREAS, It is fitting that we should honor those individuals who have left family and loved ones behind to answer the call of duty to our country and serve in the Armed Forces during a time of war; and

WHEREAS, On May 21, 2006, at 1 p.m., the O'Fallon Veterans Monument will be dedicated at its location at 737 East Wesley Drive in O'Fallon; and

WHEREAS, This monument will honor all veterans that have served during a time of war; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the dedication and opening of the O'Fallon Veterans Memorial on May 21, 2006, and we salute those courageous individuals for whom this monument was constructed; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the O'Fallon Veteran's Monument Association.
