| WHEREAS, Beth Ann Saracco, an esteemed resident of |
| 3 |
| Westchester and a
senior at Nazareth Academy in LaGrange Park, |
| 4 |
| has achieved national recognition for
exemplary volunteer |
| 5 |
| service by receiving a 2005 Prudential Spirit of Community
|
| 6 |
| Award; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, This prestigious award, presented by Prudential |
| 8 |
| Financial in
partnership with the National Association of |
| 9 |
| Secondary School Principals,
honors young volunteers across |
| 10 |
| America who have demonstrated an extraordinary
commitment to |
| 11 |
| serving their communities; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Saracco earned this award by giving generously |
| 13 |
| of her time
and energy to co-found an aqua therapy program for |
| 14 |
| people with brain injuries in conjunction with an organization |
| 15 |
| called Miracles in Progress; she researched the benefits of |
| 16 |
| aqua therapy, secured a swimming pool, and recruited 20 |
| 17 |
| volunteers for her "Pool Pals" program, which is now |
| 18 |
| benefitting 20 individuals with brain injuries; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, The success of the State of Illinois, the strength |
| 20 |
| of our
communities, and the overall vitality of American |
| 21 |
| society depend, in great
measure, upon the dedication of young |
| 22 |
| people like Ms. Saracco who use their
considerable talents and |
| 23 |
| resources to serve others; therefore, be it
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 26 |
| we congratulate and honor Beth Ann Saracco for being named a |
| 27 |
| recipient of a Prudential Spirit of Community Award, |
| 28 |
| recognizing her outstanding record of volunteer service, peer |
| 29 |
| leadership, and community spirit; and be it further
