HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Ben Haiman of LaGrange received the Future Leader Award given by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the award is one of four awards given by the Chamber as part of the Pride of the Future Youth Awards; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Haiman is a senior at Lyons Township High School, where he is known for his school spirit and commitment; and

WHEREAS, He is active in several school activities, including as a member of the Student Council Executive Board, as the Student Council representative to the District 204 School Board, as a group leader of the Business Management club, as part of Relay for Life, on the Curriculum and Staff Development Team, on the Lyons Township High School Hall of Fame Committee, on the Special Education Interview Committee, on the Red Ribbon Committee, as a coordinator for Secret Santa, as a member of National Honor Society, as Student Council Advisory Representative, and as a coordinator for the Holiday Write Night Committee; and

WHEREAS, He has devoted hours and hours to service outside of the high school as well through participation in Whole in One Club, a K-6 after school enrichment program, as a volunteer, assistant director, and as a volunteer representative to the Board of Directors; he has served as a Sunday School instructor at his church, as a winter and summer break camp counselor, as an adult computer class instructor, as a Potta Youth Group counselor, as an assistant eight grade teacher, as a technology consultant, and as an AV repair assistant during the summer; and

WHEREAS, He is a member of National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll every semester that he has been in high school; he was named School Citizen of the Year for District 204 by Education Region West 40 in 2004-2005; he is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the mathematics honor society, and was Student of the Month-Student Activities in February of 2004; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ben Haiman on winning the Future Leader Award given by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Haiman as an expression of our esteem.
