HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, May 1-7, 2006, is recognized as National Teacher Appreciation Week; and

WHEREAS, Teachers make public schools great; and

WHEREAS, They nurture our children, help them grow, make sacrifices, and dedicate their time and energy to helping our children succeed; and

WHEREAS, Teachers work to open student's minds to ideas, knowledge, and dreams; and

WHEREAS, They fill many roles, as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors; and

WHEREAS, Teachers keep American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship; and

WHEREAS, Teachers continue to influence us long after our school days are only memories; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that in recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Week, we honor the teachers of District 129 for their many hours of work dedicated to the education of the students of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to District 129 as an expression of our gratitude and esteem.
