HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The Triad High School varsity cheerleaders
3 recently won the IHSA State Cheerleading Championship and the
4 Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) State
5 Championship; and
 
6     WHEREAS, The team competed in the IHSA Sectional
7 Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, March 4, 2006, and earned
8 the right to compete in the State Competition on March 10-11,
9 2006, in Bloomington; and
 
10     WHEREAS, They first competed in the preliminary round
11 against 25 other teams in the medium varsity division, placing
12 in the top 10, qualifying for the finals held on Saturday,
13 March 11, 2006; and
 
14     WHEREAS, In the finals, the team threw a flawless routine,
15 earning the first place trophy and the title of the first IHSA
16 State Cheerleading Champions ever; and
 
17     WHEREAS, On Sunday, March, 12, 2006, the team competed in
18 the ICCA Championship Cheerleading competition in Springfield,
19 where they also took first place; and
 
20     WHEREAS, The Triad High School varsity cheerleaders are led
21 by head coach, Kelly Grapperhaus, and assistant coaches,
22 Annette Mills, Rebecca Severit, and Dave Van deVelde; and
 
23     WHEREAS, The members of the varsity squad include Kelsey
24 Adams, Amanda Berg, Amber Bohnenstiehl, Katie Boucher, Kelley
25 Brink, Kate Cange (Captain), Krista Findlay, Dori Fuhler,
26 Meredith Heuiser, Lauren Lacopo, Emily Lynn, Bailey Schneider,
27 Niki Sipole, Emily Smith (Captain), Laura Straube, Ashley
28 Weder, and Chelsea Weider; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate the Triad High School varsity cheerleaders on
4 winning the IHSA State Cheerleading Championship and the
5 Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association State Championship;
6 and be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to each of the members and coaches of the varsity
9 cheerleading squad and to Triad High School.
