1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, It is the privilege of this Body to recognize
3 milestone events in the history of organizations in this State;
4 and

5     WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Illinois was founded on
6 January 22, 1976, by parents of children with autism; and

7     WHEREAS, The Autism Society of Illinois is the State's
8 oldest and largest autism organization; and

9     WHEREAS, The mission of the Autism Society of Illinois is
10 to promote through advocacy, public awareness, education, and
11 research, lifelong access and opportunities for persons within
12 the autism spectrum disorder and their families in order that
13 they may be fully included, participating members of their
14 communities; therefore, be it

15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17 we congratulate the Autism Society of Illinois on the occasion
18 of its 30th anniversary, and we commend the organization for
19 its work on behalf of individuals with autism and their
20 families; and be it further

21     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22 presented to the Autism Society of Illinois as an expression of
23 our esteem.
