| WHEREAS, Richard Clemmons, director of External Relations, |
| 3 |
| President's Office for the Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB), will |
| 4 |
| retire from his position on June 30, 2006, after 36 years of |
| 5 |
| service; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Clemmons has held a number of management |
| 7 |
| positions during his 36-year career with Illinois Farm Bureau, |
| 8 |
| primarily working in government affairs areas dealing with |
| 9 |
| various local and State legislative issues and concerns; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He began his career with IFB in 1970 while still a |
| 11 |
| student at Illinois State University (ISU); after graduating, |
| 12 |
| he served as county executive secretary for the Mason County |
| 13 |
| Farm Bureau; in 1976, he became assistant director of Local |
| 14 |
| Government and Government Affairs for IFB; from 1981 to the |
| 15 |
| present, he has held a number of director level positions |
| 16 |
| within the Farm Bureau organization; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He holds a bachelor degree in education from |
| 18 |
| Illinois State University; he was a registered lobbyist in |
| 19 |
| Illinois and served on the organizing committee for the |
| 20 |
| Illinois Council for Food and Agricultural Research; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, He sits on the ISU Alumni Association Board of |
| 22 |
| Directors, the ISU Foundation Board, and is the immediate past |
| 23 |
| president of the alumni board; he is the current chair of the |
| 24 |
| State 4-H Foundation Board for the University of Illinois and |
| 25 |
| is a current member of the Normal (Illinois) Kiwanis Club; he |
| 26 |
| is a past member of the Town of Normal Zoning Board of Appeals |
| 27 |
| and Planning Commission and served on The Baby Fold Board for |
| 28 |
| nine years; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Rich Clemmons married Gretchen on February 21, |
| 30 |
| 1970; he is the father of Sarah, Erin, and Chris; therefore, be |
