HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Tom Rivera on being inducted into the Illinois Tourism Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rivera has worked for 22 years in the tourism industry, and in his position as president of the Greater Woodfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, he has helped to generate $50 million a year in tourism revenue for the 12-community area it serves; and

WHEREAS, Most recently, his tenure has seen the opening of a Schaumburg convention center and a Hoffman Estates sports arena; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rivera was among four retiring leaders to be inducted into the new Illinois Tourism Hall of Fame during the recent Illinois Governor's Conference on Tourism in Springfield; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tom Rivera on being inducted into the Illinois Tourism Hall of Fame; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Rivera as an expression of our esteem.
