Amends the School Code. Requires a school board to provide a copy of each school's emergency evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first responders who serve the school district. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections 10-20.40 and 34-18.33 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new)

Sec. 10-20.40. Evacuation plan; copy to first responders. A school board must provide a copy of each school's emergency evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first responders, as defined in Section 3.60 of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act, who serve the school district.

Sec. 34-18.33. Evacuation plan; copy to first responders. The board must provide a copy of each school's emergency evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first responders, as defined in Section 3.60 of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act, who serve the school district.

Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding Section 8.30 as follows:

Sec. 8.30. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and 8 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for the implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly.
