SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.33 new
30 ILCS 805/8.30 new

    Amends the School Code. Requires a school board to provide a copy of each school's emergency evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first responders who serve the school district. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement.

1     AN ACT concerning education.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-20.40 and 34-18.33 as follows:
 
6     (105 ILCS 5/10-20.40 new)
7     Sec. 10-20.40. Evacuation plan; copy to first responders. A
8 school board must provide a copy of each school's emergency
9 evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first
10 responders, as defined in Section 3.60 of the Emergency Medical
11 Services (EMS) Systems Act, who serve the school district.
 
12     (105 ILCS 5/34-18.33 new)
13     Sec. 34-18.33. Evacuation plan; copy to first responders.
14 The board must provide a copy of each school's emergency
15 evacuation plan for children with disabilities to all first
16 responders, as defined in Section 3.60 of the Emergency Medical
17 Services (EMS) Systems Act, who serve the school district.
 
18     Section 90. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding
19 Section 8.30 as follows:
 
20     (30 ILCS 805/8.30 new)
21     Sec. 8.30. Exempt mandate. Notwithstanding Sections 6 and 8
22 of this Act, no reimbursement by the State is required for the
23 implementation of any mandate created by this amendatory Act of
24 the 94th General Assembly.
