SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
520 ILCS 10/12 new
525 ILCS 30/27 new

    Amends the Illinois Endangered Species Protection Act and the Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act to provide that areas designated as Enterprise Zones under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act that are located on a former U.S. military base that was closed in 1990 or thereafter are exempt from the provisions, duties, obligations, and penalties provided under these Acts. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning conservation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Endangered Species Protection Act
5 is amended by adding Section 12 as follows:
 
6     (520 ILCS 10/12 new)
7     Sec. 12. Enterprise Zone exemption. Areas designated as
8 Enterprise Zones under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act that
9 are located on a former U.S. military base that was closed in
10 1990 or thereafter are exempt from the provisions, duties,
11 obligations, and penalties of this Act.
 
12     Section 10. The Illinois Natural Areas Preservation Act is
13 amended by adding Section 27 as follows:
 
14     (525 ILCS 30/27 new)
15     Sec. 27. Enterprise Zone exemption. Areas designated as
16 Enterprise Zones under the Illinois Enterprise Zone Act that
17 are located on a former U.S. military base that was closed in
18 1990 or thereafter are exempt from the provisions, duties,
19 obligations, and penalties of this Act.
 
20     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21 becoming law.
