    Amends the Election Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning registration of electors in certain municipalities.

1     AN ACT concerning elections.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section
5 6-1 as follows:
 
6     (10 ILCS 5/6-1)  (from Ch. 46, par. 6-1)
7     Sec. 6-1. The The provisions of this Article 6 (and of
8 Articles 14 and 18 hereof) so far as they are the same as those
9 of the provisions of "An Act regulating the holding of
10 elections and declaring the result thereof in cities, villages
11 and incorporated towns in this state", approved June 19, 1885,
12 as amended, (hereinafter sometimes referred to in this Article
13 as the Act of 1885) shall be construed as a continuation of
14 such prior provisions and not as a new enactment; and it is
15 declared to be the legislative intent that any city, village or
16 incorporated town which has heretofore adopted and become
17 entitled to the provisions of said Act of 1885, shall
18 automatically become subject to the provisions of this Article
19 6 and Articles 14 and 18 of this Act (as well as certain
20 sections in other articles which are made specifically
21 applicable to such city, village or incorporated town), which
22 three articles together shall be known as the City Election
23 Law.
