    Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning legislative findings.

1     AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by
5 changing Section 8 as follows:
 
6     (415 ILCS 5/8)  (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 1008)
7     Sec. 8. The The General Assembly finds that pollution of
8 the air of this State constitutes a menace to public health and
9 welfare, creates public nuisances, adds to cleaning costs,
10 accelerates the deterioration of materials, adversely affects
11 agriculture, business, industry, recreation, climate, and
12 visibility, depresses property values, and offends the senses.
13     It is the purpose of this Title to restore, maintain, and
14 enhance the purity of the air of this State in order to protect
15 health, welfare, property, and the quality of life and to
16 assure that no air contaminants are discharged into the
17 atmosphere without being given the degree of treatment or
18 control necessary to prevent pollution.
