SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael L. "Mike" Bagby of East Moline, who passed away on April 2, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Mike Bagby, the son of Donald and Shirley Burroughs Bagby, was born in Bloomington on July 7, 1948; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict; he married Jane Combs in El Paso on March 29, 1975; and

WHEREAS, Mike Bagby retired from Sexton Ford Moline in 2011, after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Mike Bagby was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Donald and Bill Bagby; and

WHEREAS, Mike Bagby is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jane; his sons, Brad (Audrey) Bagby, Brian (Kelli) Bagby, and Benjamin Bagby; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and his brothers, Gary (Martha) Bagby, Tom (Sue) Bagby, and Jim (Donna) Bagby; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael L. "Mike" Bagby and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike Bagby as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
