SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard Moore, who passed away on November 25, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moore was born to Fred and Blevian Moore in Munster, Indiana on October 13, 2000; he attended Elementary School District 149, Elementary School District 162, and St. Rita Catholic School; he graduated from Rich East High School in Park Forest; he played several sports but enjoyed football the most; after graduation, he attended Jackson State University; and

WHEREAS, After his transplant in 2022, Richard Moore began living his best life; he traveled to the Caribbean, attended an anime convention, and started working at Blackhawk Elementary School in School District 163, a place that felt like family to him; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moore, also known as Big Rich, committed to his faith at a very young age and loved music, family, and friends; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moore was preceded in death by his uncle, Richard; his aunt, Quita; and his grandmother; and

WHEREAS, Richard Moore is survived by his parents; his twin brother, Rivage; his sisters, Tamika and Vetta; his grandparents; his friends; his aunts; his honorary aunts, Sharon and Gwen; his uncles; his special uncle, Anthony; his cousins, Nickey, Maliyah, Tay Tay, and Manson; and his brother/cousins, Gerrik and Khylen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Richard Moore and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Moore as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
