SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lance Corporal Evan C. Brown of Monticello, who passed away on August 11, 2023; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown was born in Urbana to Michael R. and Kathy O. (O'Meara) Brown on July 28, 2003; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown proudly served in the United States Marines as an infantryman; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church and Albert-Parker American Legion Post #620; he loved the outdoors; he also loved animals and music and was an avid history buff; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown was a beloved son and brother and a kind friend known for his sense of humor and compassion for others; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Bernee O'Meara; and

WHEREAS, LCpl. Brown is survived by his parents; his sisters, Mary Cate (Brian) Conn, Lily Brown, and Emma Brown; and his grandmother, Joanne Hodges; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lance Corporal Evan C. Brown and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of LCpl. Brown as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
