SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Caleb Lee Schwartz of East Peoria, who passed away on May 30, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz was born to David and Meghann (Dermott) Schwartz in Peoria on May 15, 2013; and

WHEREAS, From his smile to his tenacity for making others laugh, Caleb Schwartz brought light and joy into the lives of everyone he encountered; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz's desire to bring others happiness was only overshadowed by his love of being outdoors; he enjoyed taking daily walks around the neighborhood, playing catch or frisbee, and spending time on his swing set; he especially enjoyed going on R.V. camping trips; and

WHEREAS, When he was not outside, Caleb Schwartz enjoyed reading, listening to stories or music on his Yoto, playing board games, putting together puzzles, and playing with his action figures; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz worked incredibly hard in school, and he excelled at spelling and math; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz's special time of the week was Sunday Night Family Movie Night with his parents; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz, no matter what he was doing, was happiest as long as he was spending time with the people he loved, and he loved everyone; and

WHEREAS, Caleb Schwartz is survived by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Daniel Lee and Anita Schwartz; his maternal grandparents, Donald Lee and Patricia Poll; his great-grandparents, Stanley and Flora Schwartz and Mary Lou Holt; his aunt, Lauren (Sean) Wilhite; his uncle, Greg (Tracey) Schwartz; his cousins, Joey, Miles, Benjamin, and Everett; and a host of other extended family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Caleb Lee Schwartz and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Caleb Schwartz as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
