SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Betty W. Henneman of Chicago, who
4passed away on March 9, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman was born in Chicago to Martin C.
6and Edith Bush Wellner on August 29, 1931; she married Dr.
7Raymond Henneman in 1954, and they settled in Park Ridge; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman was a teacher of music, which she
9loved dearly; she was always surrounded by music, whether in
10the Mary, Seat of Wisdom Choir, at the Chicago Symphony
11Orchestra, the Philharmonic, or the Park Ridge Civic
12Orchestra, and everyday throughout the house; family
13gatherings often included everyone singing around her at the
14piano; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman was elected city clerk of Park
16Ridge in 1985 and served for 36 years; she enjoyed serving her
17community and volunteered with many service and community
18organizations; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman was an active member of Mary, Seat
20of Wisdom Church; she enjoyed reading, and as a regular book
21club member, she kept up even though she had to search for one

1of her 25 pairs of reading glasses; she also enjoyed world
2travel; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman lived life to the fullest and
4always appreciated her connection to others; she was a master
5communicator and stayed in touch with everyone by phone; she
6listened and unified, ultimately pulling people together;
7hosting parties was her joy, and everyone gathered at the
8Hennemans; her laughter was contagious, and she was never
9afraid to laugh at herself; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Betty Henneman was loved and cherished by many
11people, including her parents; her husband, Dr. Raymond
12Henneman; her children, Jeffrey (Kathleen) Henneman, Paula
13(John) Beals, Janet (Steven) Franke, David Henneman, and Amy
14(Michael) Davidson; her grandchildren, Nick, Jamie (Lisa),
15Meredith (Thomas), Jenna (James), Ian (Georgia), Cara (Emma),
16Abby (Sam), Megan (Jacob), Cayley (Dawson), Andrew, Elizabeth,
17William, and Jack; and her great-grandchild, Ashlyn;
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Betty W. Henneman and extend our sincere condolences to her
22family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
23further

2presented to the family of Betty Henneman as an expression of
3our deepest sympathy.
