SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 3305/7.5 new

Amends the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act. Provides that, if the Governor has issued a statewide disaster proclamation under the Act, all local health departments shall, for the period during which that proclamation remains in effect, report to and be directed by the Department of Public Health.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act is amended by adding Section 7.5 as follows:

(20 ILCS 3305/7.5 new)

Sec. 7.5. Disaster declaration; local health departments. If the Governor has issued a statewide disaster proclamation under Section 7, all local health departments shall, for the period during which that proclamation remains in effect, report to and be directed by the Department of Public Health.
