    Amends the Public Utilities Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the duties of public utilities.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing
5Section 8-101 as follows:
 
6    (220 ILCS 5/8-101)  (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-101)
7    Sec. 8-101. Duties of public utilities; nondiscrimination.
8A public utility shall furnish, provide, and and maintain such
9service instrumentalities, equipment, and facilities as shall
10promote the safety, health, comfort, and convenience of its
11patrons, employees, and public and as shall be in all respects
12adequate, efficient, just, and reasonable.
13    All rules and regulations made by a public utility
14affecting or pertaining to its charges or service to the
15public shall be just and reasonable.
16    A public utility shall, upon reasonable notice, furnish to
17all persons who may apply therefor and be reasonably entitled
18thereto, suitable facilities and service, without
19discrimination and without delay.
20    Nothing in this Section shall be construed to prevent a
21public utility from accepting payment electronically or by the
22use of a customer-preferred financially accredited credit or
23debit methodology.
