HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lillian
4Marie "Lady B" Bonner, who passed away on December 26, 2022;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was born to William and Beatrice
7Jarrett in Alton on August 19, 1950; she graduated from Alton
8Senior High School in 1967; she married Charles Edward Bonner
9at the Greater Mount Olive Church of God in Christ on July 19,
101975; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner started her career at Illinois
12Youth Center Warrenville in 1983; she retired in 2002, leaving
13behind a legacy of wisdom, kindness, love, and lifelong
14friendships; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner committed to her faith at an early
16age, and she was a lifelong member of the Great Mount Olive
17Church of God in Christ; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was a fashionista who loved
19shopping and finding the best bargains, and she regularly
20shopped with friends while visiting Marshalls, TJ Maxx,
21Macy's, and other stores; and

1    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was affectionately known as "Nana"
2to her grandchildren; she will be remembered for her
3intelligence, wisdom, undeniable beauty, and beautiful singing
4voice; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner was preceded in death by her
6husband; her parents; her father-in-law, Bishop William Haven
7Bonner; her mother-in-law, Mother Dorothy Mae Bonner; her
8brother, Lemoyndue Jarrett; and her aunts, uncles, cousins,
9and nephews; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Lillian Bonner is survived by her daughter,
11Natalie Bonner; her granddaughter, Noelle Pryor; her grandson,
12Nathan Bonner-Jones; her siblings, Willa Bennett, William
13Jarrett, and Verrell Harley; her sisters-in-law, Willie Etta
14(Augustus) Wright and Dorothy (Gregory) Jones; her
15goddaughters, Autum Newson, Lisa Jones, LaWonna Berry, and
16Artese Chaney; her chosen sisters, Mary Holland, Christine
17Brannon, Maxine Crim, Glenda Barnes, Rowena Walton, and Ruth
18Green; her many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family
19members, friends, and co-workers; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
21HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22we mourn the passing of Lillian Marie "Lady B" Bonner and

1extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all
2who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Lillian Bonner as an expression of
5our deepest sympathy.
