HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Nidhi Kulkarni, a seventh grader at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School, who won first place in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Citywide Spelling Bee Championship; and

WHEREAS, The CPS Citywide Spelling Bee Championship was held at Marie Curie High School on March 19, 2024 and provides an opportunity for students across Chicago to meet, engage, and learn from one another; and

WHEREAS, Nidhi Kulkarni was the representative from her class selected to participate in the school-wide spelling bee, and after she correctly spelled mumbai in her school spelling bee, she advanced to the citywide championship; and

WHEREAS, Nidhi Kulkarni was participating for the first time in the citywide spelling bee; and

WHEREAS, Nidhi Kulkarni memorized 4,000 words and correctly spelled myocarditis to secure her title as the champion of the 2024 Chicago Public School Citywide Spelling Bee; and

WHEREAS, Principal Reyes and Librarian Aldrin foster a meritorious environment that promotes success within the student body at Alexander Bell Elementary School; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulates Nidhi Kulkarni, a student at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School, on her outstanding accomplishment in winning the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) Citywide Spelling Bee Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to Nidhi Kulkarni, her family, and Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School to celebrate this excellent academic commitment and achievement.
