HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Alton Dwayne Reese III; and

WHEREAS, Alton Reese was born in Chicago to Alton Reese Jr. and Leontyne Reese-Tabb on May 29, 1959; he attended Emerson Elementary School in Harvey; as a child, he committed to his faith while attending St. Luke Church of God in Christ; he graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton and later attended the police academy, where he graduated at the top of his class in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Alton Reese worked for the Harvey Police Department for several years, where he enjoyed helping the community; and

WHEREAS, Alton Reese loved the game of baseball and was given an opportunity to try out for the Chicago White Sox; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Alton Reese was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Alton Reese is survived by his brothers Albert (Gwendolyn) and Anthony; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his partner, Shenise McCarter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alton Dwayne Reese III and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alton Reese as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
