HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Stacey Peterson on the
4occasion of her retirement as adult services department
5manager of Batavia Public Library; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has led the Adult Services
7Department at Batavia Public Library since 2001, ensuring that
8adults have access to resources for information, recreation,
9and entertainment in a variety of formats and technologies;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has provided countless engaging
12programs to patrons, including book discussions, informational
13lectures, author visits, local history, musical entertainment,
14and the annual, community-wide reading program, One Book, One
15Batavia; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has also launched new services,
17such as streaming video, 3D printing, and the Library of
18Things, which enables users to borrow cake pans, musical
19instruments, and even a metal detector; and
 
20    WHEREAS, In the course of her work, Stacey Peterson has
21developed partnerships and collaborated with area schools,

1governmental bodies, and community organizations to enrich the
2library experience of patrons; she has also served as a
3library representative at several events, including
4conferences; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson previously served as part of the
6management team that planned and opened the new 54,000
7square-foot library building at 10 South Batavia Avenue in
8January 2002; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Through her work at Batavia Public Library,
10Stacey Peterson has enriched the lives of countless community
11members; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate Stacey Peterson on the occasion of her
15retirement, and we thank her for her dedication to serving the
16community and the City of Batavia; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to Stacey Peterson as an expression of our esteem
19and respect.
