HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Stacey Peterson on the occasion of her retirement as adult services department manager of Batavia Public Library; and

WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has led the Adult Services Department at Batavia Public Library since 2001, ensuring that adults have access to resources for information, recreation, and entertainment in a variety of formats and technologies; and

WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has provided countless engaging programs to patrons, including book discussions, informational lectures, author visits, local history, musical entertainment, and the annual, community-wide reading program, One Book, One Batavia; and

WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson has also launched new services, such as streaming video, 3D printing, and the Library of Things, which enables users to borrow cake pans, musical instruments, and even a metal detector; and

WHEREAS, In the course of her work, Stacey Peterson has developed partnerships and collaborated with area schools, governmental bodies, and community organizations to enrich the library experience of patrons; she has also served as a library representative at several events, including conferences; and

WHEREAS, Stacey Peterson previously served as part of the management team that planned and opened the new 54,000 square-foot library building at 10 South Batavia Avenue in January 2002; and

WHEREAS, Through her work at Batavia Public Library, Stacey Peterson has enriched the lives of countless community members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Stacey Peterson on the occasion of her retirement, and we thank her for her dedication to serving the community and the City of Batavia; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Stacey Peterson as an expression of our esteem and respect.
