HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Okawville Busy Bees
44-H Club on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club was organized in
6the fall of 1947 at the Okawville grade school; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club met in member's
8homes for several years before moving meetings to the
9community building, where meetings are held to this day; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club began its work
11in the community focusing on agriculture and home economics
12and has grown into a hub for programs geared toward children
13from both rural and urban backgrounds and from all ethic
14groups; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club has a current
16enrollment of approximately 60 members with 11 leaders and
17project leaders; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club continues to
19live up to the 4-H pledge "I pledge my head to clearer
20thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger

1service, my health to better living for my club, my community,
2my country and my world"; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Over these 75 years, the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H
4Club has achieved great successes through the determination of
5club leaders like Henry Garlich, William Riechmann, Dwight
6Shubert, Donna Hesker, and Ronald Going; and
 
7    WHEREAS, This leadership tradition has been continued by
8President Paige Riechmann, Vice President Clay Maynard,
9Secretary Lily Helbig, Treasurer Braxton Rennegarbe, Reporter
10Penny Herzig, and Scrapbooker Annabelle Herzig; and
 
11    WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club has positively
12affected the lives of hundreds of children in this great
13State; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
15HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we congratulate the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club on the
17occasion of its 75th anniversary and acknowledge all of the
18contributions by the leaders, members, and families who have
19impacted the health of their club, community, country, and
20world for the better; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be

1presented to the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club and to club
2leaders Paige Riechmann, Clay Maynard, Lily Helbig, Braxton
3Rennegarbe, Penny Herzig, Annabelle Herzig, Erica Riechmann,
4and Michele Helbig as an expression of our respect and esteem
5for a vibrant first 75 years and as a leading example of
6learning and comradery.
