HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Terry McGoldrick on the occasion of his retirement from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 15 on May 5, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Terry McGoldrick started as a meter reader in Rockford on March 25, 1985; he went to line school that fall and became a lineman in Rockford; he became a union steward in the early 1990s, chief steward in the mid 1990s, and chairman of the Rockford unit meeting in 1998; and

WHEREAS, Terry McGoldrick was hired as a business representative in March of 2002 for Commercial Physical in the West Region, a position he held until he was elected vice president of Local 15 in June of 2007; he served as vice president until elected as president/business manager/financial secretary in June of 2019; he was elected as utility representative for the IBEW Illinois Board in June of 2019; and

WHEREAS, Terry McGoldrick worked tirelessly for the membership of Local 15 and logged many hours working on legislation, including being instrumental in the passage of the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA), the Clean Energy Jobs Act (CEJA), and Smart Grid legislation; and

WHEREAS, Terry McGoldrick and his wife, Lisa, have two children, a son, Nathan, and a daughter, Hannah; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Terry McGoldrick on his retirement from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 15, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Terry McGoldrick as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
