HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jonathan L. Melson, who passed away on March 31, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson was a devoted, proud, and loving father and a personable, caring, and outgoing human being; he was an amazing cook, who created recipes filled with love; and

WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson volunteered his time coaching Jackie Robinson Jacquar's Pee Wee League; he had a zest for living, a strong work ethic, and a love for people; and

WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson was affectionately known as "Chi City"; he committed to his faith at an early age and throughout his life, was surrounded by a loving family with a deep faith; and

WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson enjoyed following sports, especially football; he loved the City of Chicago and was a fan of all of its teams; and

WHEREAS, Jonathan Melson is survived by numerous family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jonathan L. Melson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jonathan Melson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
