HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark R. Einwich of St. Charles, formerly of Burlington and Elgin, who passed away on March 7, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was born to Otto Einwich Jr. and Judy Einwich in Elgin on January 31, 1968; he was raised in Elgin and graduated from Burlington Central High School in 1986; he earned his associate's degree from Elgin Community College and attended the Illinois Fire Service Institute and the National Fire Academy; he married Angela "Angie" Koukol; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was a 30-year member of the Geneva Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of deputy chief of Operations prior to his retirement on November 1, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich remained an active member of the Burlington Community Fire Protection District since starting there in 1992, rising to the rank of deputy chief; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich's commitment to public service was extensive, and he previously served on the Pingree Grove and Countryside Fire Protection District from 1986 to 1993 and additionally as a telecommunicator for the Kane County Sheriff's Office from 1988 to 1993; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich announced basketball and football games at Burlington Central High School for over 30 years, becoming known the "Voice of the Rockets"; through his booming voice and kind demeanor, he touched the lives of generations of students and spectators of Burlington Central High School Athletics; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich was inducted into the Burlington Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011; and

WHEREAS, Mark Einwich is survived by his wife, Angie; his parents; his children, Carolyn (Jeff Barnes) Thompson, Liz (Jordan) Stallman, Madison (Tim Laird) Einwich, Rhett Einwich, Caden Einwich, and Wyatt Einwich; his grandchildren, Tahlia, Charlotte, Kayce, Elena, and Riley; and several aunts, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark R. Einwich and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Einwich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
