HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jon Wagner on the occasion of his retirement from Edwardsville High School athletics; and

WHEREAS, Jon Wagner has been involved with Edwardsville High School wrestling for 46 seasons and has been head coach since 1996; and

WHEREAS, In his 27 seasons of head coaching, Jon Wagner has had 545 wins and has brought the ranking of Edwardsville High School wrestling to tenth in the state; and

WHEREAS, Jon Wagner is a member of the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Hall of Fame, and his accomplishments include 17 SWC Championships, 14 IHSA regional championships, four sectional championships, and four state appearances; he has coached 16 state medalists and 92 state qualifiers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jon Wagner on his accomplishments in his high school coaching career and wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jon Wagner as an expression of our esteem and respect.
