SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

50 ILCS 705/8.5 new

Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Provides that, upon issuance of a first-time certification to a probationary police officer or probationary part-time police officer, the Board may not issue a waiver of training until at least 12 months and one day after the date the certification was issued.

AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by adding Section 8.5 as follows:

(50 ILCS 705/8.5 new)

Sec. 8.5. Probationary police officer and probationary part-time police officer waivers. Upon issuance of a first-time certification to a probationary police officer or probationary part-time police officer, the Board may not issue a waiver of training until at least 12 months and one day after the date the certification was issued.
