SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
415 ILCS 30/9.3 new

    Amends the Illinois Water Well Construction Code. Provides that the minimum lateral setback distance between a closed-loop well and a storm sewer, sanitary sewer, combined sewer, or any other potential source of contamination is 5 feet. Specifies that setbacks from footing drains and pits, crawl spaces, and basements do not apply to closed-loop wells.

1    AN ACT concerning safety.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Water Well Construction Code is
5amended by adding Section 9.3 as follows:
 
6    (415 ILCS 30/9.3 new)
7    Sec. 9.3. Closed-loop well setbacks.
8    (a) The minimum lateral setback distance between a
9closed-loop well and a storm sewer, sanitary sewer, combined
10sewer, or any other potential source of contamination is 5
11feet.
12    (b) Setbacks from footing drains and pits, crawl spaces,
13and basements do not apply to closed-loop wells.
