SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 130/8A-23 new

Amends the Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984. Provides that the Architect of the Capitol, in conjunction with the Secretary of State, shall arrange for the installation of at least 3 supercharger electric vehicle charging stations within the legislative complex within 5 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Legislative Commission Reorganization Act of 1984 is amended by adding Section 8A-23 as follows:

(25 ILCS 130/8A-23 new)

Sec. 8A-23. Installation of supercharger electric vehicle charging stations in the legislative complex. The Architect of the Capitol, in conjunction with the Secretary of State, shall arrange for the installation of at least 3 supercharger electric vehicle charging stations within the legislative complex within 5 years after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General Assembly. As used in this Section, "supercharger electric vehicle charging station" means a high-power, direct-current system for rapidly charging the battery system of an electric vehicle.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
