SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

25 ILCS 10/17 new

Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that, if a legislator introduces legislation that results in the taking of private land for a project in another legislator's district, then a project of that same type must be completed in the district of the legislator who introduced the legislation that resulted in the taking of private land.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended by adding Section 17 as follows:

(25 ILCS 10/17 new)

Sec. 17. Use of private land. If a legislator introduces legislation that results in the taking of private land for a project in another legislator's district, then a project of that same type must be completed in the district of the legislator who introduced the legislation that resulted in the taking of private land.
