SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

225 ILCS 10/3.7 new

Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that the transfer of responsibility for licensure under this Act from the Department of Children and Family Services to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall begin on the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides that the Department of Healthcare and Family Services may adopt any rules and execute any intergovernmental agreements necessary to assume responsibility for the transfer.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by changing Section 2.02 and by adding Section 3.7 as follows:

Sec. 2.02. "Department" means the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, except that, after the transfer of licensing functions has been completed, "Department" means the Department of Healthcare and Family Services in those provisions of this Act concerning licensure.

Sec. 3.7. Transfer of licensing functions.

(a) The transfer of responsibility for licensure under this Act from the Department of Children and Family Services to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall begin on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General Assembly.

(b) The Department of Children and Family Services may adopt any rules and execute any intergovernmental agreements necessary to assume responsibility for licensure under this Act.
