SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
225 ILCS 10/2.02  from Ch. 23, par. 2212.02
225 ILCS 10/3.7 new

    Amends the Child Care Act of 1969. Provides that the transfer of responsibility for licensure under this Act from the Department of Children and Family Services to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall begin on the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides that the Department of Healthcare and Family Services may adopt any rules and execute any intergovernmental agreements necessary to assume responsibility for the transfer.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by
5changing Section 2.02 and by adding Section 3.7 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 10/2.02)  (from Ch. 23, par. 2212.02)
7    Sec. 2.02. "Department" means the Illinois Department of
8Children and Family Services, except that, after the transfer
9of licensing functions has been completed, "Department" means
10the Department of Healthcare and Family Services in those
11provisions of this Act concerning licensure.

14    Sec. 3.7. Transfer of licensing functions.
15    (a) The transfer of responsibility for licensure under
16this Act from the Department of Children and Family Services
17to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall
18begin on the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd
19General Assembly.
20    (b) The Department of Children and Family Services may
21adopt any rules and execute any intergovernmental agreements
22necessary to assume responsibility for licensure under this
