SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

35 ILCS 200/Art. 10 Div. 22 heading new
35 ILCS 200/10-810 new

Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that wireless telecommunication towers that are not otherwise exempt under a specific provision of the Code are subject to local property taxes and shall be valued according to policies adopted by the chief county assessment officer. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning revenue.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding Division 22 to Article 10 as follows:

Division 22. Wireless telecommunications towers.

(35 ILCS 200/10-810 new)

Sec. 10-810. Wireless telecommunications towers. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, wireless telecommunication towers that are not otherwise exempt under a specific provision of this Code are subject to local property taxes and shall be valued according to policies adopted by the chief county assessment officer.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
