SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new

Amends the Accident and Health Article of the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that on or after the effective date of the amendatory Act, an insurer shall allow a covered individual to purchase a health plan offered pursuant to the medical assistance program under the Illinois Public Aid Code.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding Section 356z.61 as follows:

(215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new)

Sec. 356z.61. Option to purchase a Medicaid health plan. On or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General Assembly, an insurer shall allow a covered individual to purchase a health plan offered pursuant to the medical assistance program under the Illinois Public Aid Code.
