SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2310/2310-254 new

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Public Health to create a grant program that provides funds to organizations that test student athletes for being at risk of sudden cardiac death, including, but not limited to, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2310-254 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2310/2310-254 new)

Sec. 2310-254. Grant program; sudden cardiac death. The Department shall create a grant program that provides funds to organizations that test student athletes for being at risk of sudden cardiac death, including, but not limited to, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
